People are taking U Turn in no U Turn area.

My friends kids (twins) were born there in USA, and being Andhra folks, didnt have problems in handling food on banana leaves. But the problem was... they were eating in both hands. :-)

Kids wanted Ketchup for the fried items, which was never given. Hotel management note this.

We ordered Spl Biryani, also got some rice. Chicken Masala, Chicken 65 and Chicken Lolly Pop... Butter Naan... what does any kid eat nowadays. We finished with a cool lassi and kids had icecream. I searched for a beeda outside in vain. Unusual for the hotel.

Better than home food, but some much of khara. Green Chillies in everything.

Service was very ordinary. By the time the free raitha and bengan kulambu arrived, we had completed the biriyani. The waiter was scolding us in Malayalam.... probably he thought we didnt know the language. Sad scene in Bangalore. I didnt want to fight.

One guy brought ghee to pour on plain rice, for whatever reason!

Price is on the very high side compared to Nandhini. Very average rating.

As usual, based on service we all agreed not to tip. For a bill of Rs 1354, I could have given at least 46, but decided on a single note. Had a darshan and got laddu prasadham.

On the return we didnt want to stop for lunch at any small place / dhaba...

So we decided to eat at Forum Value Mall itself.

There is Rajdhani - providing a decent buffet at Rs 225/per head - for kids it is Rs 112 each. Nice food with lots of sweets. You will not feel hungry at all. They would charge Rs 30 per glass of lassi. But they give the mineral water ( Aquafina ) free. Lots of vegetables and curries are served. Rice with sambar and mixed curd rice made our day!

You better go with good appetite. :-)

Kids just managed some rotis and some rasmalais. Thats it. They Wanted Ice-cream.

The waiters signal each other, with some hand signals - to bring the items, to replenish.

Kids later had Icecream and Italian shop, costing Rs 68 per cone. Rip off.

So went one weekend.... shopping kids clothes at a value price.
(c) Vijayashankar 2006-10. They try to showcase all the four southern states.

I need to quote the price, as some might look at me later, and yell. ( if you visit, if you get some vouchers or your IT co. pays for it... ).

In short, it mimics Karaikudi in Chennai, with a vague resemblance of decor.

Very pricy, except the Andhra Thali @ Rs 90 plus 12.5% VAT and 6% Service Charge ( dont bother to pay tip? )

We started with the Chicken 65 platters ( 2 plates, as they guy convinced us to eat 5 pieces each! ) costing Rs 190 a plate...

We had Kerala Parotta @ Rs 45 each ( single piece, no gravy ) and Kori Gaasi ( Rs 160? ) to go with it.

Since I wanted white rice, I had to order the Andhra Thali. Boring stuff. Half cooked rice.

The family ordered Chicken Biriyani ( Rs 185? ) and they were happy. For some unknown reason, there was only half boiled egg on the top as display. C'mon dude's Rs 3 per egg, is not a luxury! But only 3 small pieces of chicken? Recession is gone, and you can give good portions, go to Nandhini to see how they serve.

With a topping of Double Ka Meeta ( Rs 75/- ) to close the Lunch, along with Rs 40 per bottle ( in a glass ) 7up, I had to cough up about Rs 1500/-.

I would have felt happy paying double the amount at Karavalli @ Taj Gateway.

I would have paid half the amount at Anjappar @ Koramangala, which is definitely very decent, but crowded.

The Dhaba which is housed above this Malgudi ( fake place by RK Narayan, said my daughter, and my wife added, fake food preparation, with no taste! ), would have been a better option for 4 of us, with lots of stuff..... a decent buffet @ Rs 299 per head and kids pay half.
(c) Vijayashankar 2006-10. They took Rs 360 initially!

First of all, with due respect the quality expected was far below!

They are giving a Coke to force your to feel hot ( khara ) not gobble many plates! Also they dont allow you to use a fresh plate. It has to be the same plate and they dont even clean the table till you get up. Water is charged at Rs 17 per litre!

Along with the plate they serve, 2 pieces of Chicken Kebabs. ( Complimentary? )

The starter was Appalam and one Chicken fried item, with lots of spice. My kids were tearing eating them... Initially they had Chicken Kebabs, then it changed to Chilly Chicken, and we were about to leave, they were filling in Chicken 65. All looked same!

The items are Ghee rice, Plain rice and Hyderabadi Biriyani. ( shame on the chef! )

Unbreakable Chappathis. At time they serve Naan or rotis, I am told.

Three Chicken dishes with little or no chicken - Butter Chicken, Chicken Masala and Chicken Hyderabadi ( later they changed the name plate to Chicken Kuruma ).

The desert free of cost is Kheer. But you can pay Rs 25 to get Gulab Jamoon with icecream. They also service Arabian Grape Jice at buy one get one free offer @ Rs 20, which was totally lousy!

Nothing notable for veggies, except for Sambar, Rasam and some koottu.

So vegetarians stay away, and Non vegetarians, if you are famished for a lousy meal, go there!
(c) Vijayashankar 2006-10. Unlike the earlier place I went to!

We went yesterday night, based on kids idea to eat Biriyani and Butter Naan with Chicken Masala.

They serve a wonderful Hyderabad Biriyani for Rs 110/- along with a 350 ml Free Coke bottle ( now the offer runs ). Looks like they brought in a Hyderabadi chef!

Chicken Masala costs Rs 75/- and the Chicken Lolypop @ Rs 90 are good items you shouldnt miss. Their Butter naans are so softy. @ Rs 22 each, it is a wonderful delight, we had to re order one more each, that made the chef to dole us a free Butter Roti each! Not bad!

Since my wife has turned Vegetarian, she had Veg noodles @ Rs 70 and it did taste good.

In the typical recession style we avoided the desert. Rs 500 as a dinner charge is not bad at all!

Service is good, though the waiters are slow and probably new.

There is no bother about parking. I had invited the family of Ramesh as well. Parking is a problem... We parked in a gully nearby, only to find many bumper hits on the return.

Warning - the looks are deceptive of the hotel. They need a thorough painting... Pricing is excellent at about 25% of a typical five star hotel! 50% of hotels at Church Street!

Since 2 families were there, the inside room, was blocked for us for 1 hour, with the rush. They kids did not complain.

We order sumptuously! Chicken Fry, Mutton Fry @ around Rs 60/- per plate, Biriyani at about Rs 80/-, (dry) Parotta @ Rs 11/- each.... They also service a small plate of rice @ Rs 8/- and Ragi Mudhe @ Rs 7/-. I am told they service Botti curry ( lungs and intestine of Goat ) in the mornings along with Idly, Dosa...

One think we liked was, they were providing unlimited gravy! In the end - there is no desert - they give each a glass of Rasam. I told them to serve a desert...

The waiters are from Mangalore, also talk Tamil.... expected a nice tip. I could see lots of first timers. The catch line was cost effective in this downturn.

NO!

For a family of 4, it costed us about Rs 1000/- for a hearty meal. Fish, Fish and some fish. To go with it Fish Biriyani and Malabar Parotta. It was as good or slightly expensive than Barbeque Nation, who has 3 Locations all around Bangalore.... It was like eating at Taj Residency... costing the same... Non Veg Thali for 2 adults, and a shared meal for kids...

Well Pallavi had a hearty meal (free of course) and ensured lots of people visited there.... Great Marketing!

It was like home food. It is closer to the shopping complex and Jewellery (I picked up 2 Golden Ear-rings from Bhima's - for wife and daughter, as a surprise). Beware parking is a headache. I parked in front of a house. God knows, what all he cursed me! You can indulge in clothe shopping. I have also seen a shoe showroom, selling Rs 400/- Bata slipper at a premium of Rs 165/-, saying Petrol, rent is high etc.

Today myself and my biz partner went there for the lunch. A place to sit, talk and eat. say many Honeywell badge tickets there. Decent crowd.

Rs 225 plus taxes. About Rs 600/- for 2 with a Soda....

I have been there many time, probably this would the sixth time. I used to take visitors from USA in the previous co. They definitely have Mutton, Sea Food and decent biryani, with a good spread of vegetarian. Salad was not good. Yucky!

Today's desert sucked. Only ice-cream was not spoilt. They used to live in Osalli Road, Padarayanpura.

Since I settled in Bangalore from 1999, it is a very regular joint.

Their Tandoori Chicken is very good, well done! Ghee Rice is the next best item.

They also serve good Naan and Parotta's. Their Chicken Tikka Masala, is very good. Also the next best item is Chicken Hyderabadi (sweet - typical Mughlai). These slow moving trucks kill you!

For the same distance and 15 more minutes, you can avoid the messy traffic into South Bangalore and reach Bannerghatta Road, JP Nagar areas by taking a left on the Attibelle Circle and continue straight (dont take left or right) till you reach Anekal (you can visit your farmland, like I do on the way!) and take a right, to reach Bannerghatta via Jigani.

Smooth as Hemamalini cheeks, like Lalu said.

The Saturday morning drive takes 1 hour and 10 minutes in the normal NH7 route, while on Sunday it reduces by 10 minutes and I dont exceed 65 - 70 kmph as my car is new.

The return drive on NH7 is cool too! Luckily the food tasted good, but my wife cribbed, "again!". SHe them to the core, tastes worst than the home food. We go to hotels to have different tasty food isnt it? (of course forget the quantitiy you binge on outside, than home).

It was 3 PM, and we were in the last pandhi and got out and found that we have to exit by the back door, through the smelly kitchen.
