Very interesting food from Malnad region @ Suggi. There is a buffet for Rs 430/- but not worth it, based on the items we see. The advt. caption says all you can eat mutton, prawns in buffet. Doesn't buffet me all you can eat? The best part is Oota, with gravies, chicken, mutton or fish. There is a veg plate meal too, at Rs 114. They give unlimited rice. On request they give another cup of vegetables. They forget to give akki roti or shavige and you have to request again, based on the crowd. The mirchi they add is very hot. So if you are used to bland food, malnad cuisine is not your plate of meal. Rasam was very poor. Better they try local or Mangalore variation.

Ruh, Belandur
This Ruh restaurant @ Belandur is a concept hotel with Middle eastern setup. Near the upcoming Bangalore Central Mall. Congestion is the keyword for parking and dont fall for valet parking. Park at your own risk.
They have the Arabic / Mediterranean look I would say. Not sure about Belly Dancing!
This place was suggested by the folks where I did a project, being the last day.... of delivery!
For a plate of Rs 400 per head, they bring in unlimited starters for you... Also they serve a wonderful Biriyani... too good. They also provide naans. Drinks are charged extra.
Worth the money if you are a non vegetarians. Fancy place and I could see lots of foreigners come in.
Note - too many offices in that area with IT industry. So they can afford to run the place easy!
Still I dont get why they start serving people with Bitter Gourd starter in the first? Silly!

Chinais , Belandur / Devarabeesanahalli
Decent but costly, value for money hotel would be Chinais , Devarabeesanahalli / Belandur
I started a project work today at Belandur and this would be for a period of 6 months, that I would have to travel from home. Decided to look for some decent joints nearby and found this place.
The Biriyaanis and the meal were good. I took and meal and order another Biriyani to share... :-)
Wonderful taste.
But the curries in the Thali were of same Masala and gave a not so happy taste.
Recommended for Office lunch goers who can afford.

Mayuri Andhra Mess, Arakere
On 1st main Road, Arakere there is Mayuri Andhra Mess.
Small place, above a galvanizing and opticians shops.
About 15 can sit and have food. There is cleanliness in that place.
This was intro'd by a friend Venky by chance....
The Rs 28 meals are fixed, and you can get extra rice for Rs 20. The chicken gravy (half plate Rs 30/- ) is divine. Their Omlette is super for Rs 8/- Excellent food! Overall for Rs 300/- my family had a decent meal!
For the laid back - ordinary but tasty food this place is recommended.

Khansama
Last Friday I had been with family to Khansama.... located at UB City, Bangalore
Though they had advertised in their site / various other email / sms promos for 275 + taxes they charged Rs 325 per head... working close to 400 rs per head. 10% service charge apart from VAT 14% and service tax....
Ambience was decent. Well the waiter didnt have much to do, as it was a buffet. They brought 6 mini butter rotis just before we finished the lunch ( says 40 mins.) for a group of 5. Pathetic!
The display of items were good compared to the taste.
Food was very average. Mom didnt like it at all. She referred to Anjappar and the quality taste
Kids liked the deserts.

Bhagini Palace, Belandur Road
Today I went to Bhagini Palace, Belandur Road to have lunch with a friends family.
That was the closest spot available, as it was near Sarjapur Road and Outer Ring Road.
We decided to meet at 1 PM at the hotel... as usual , both were delayed and finally we settled in at 1.45 PM ... after struggling in front of the hotel to get parking, with so much of traffic and construction. People are taking U Turn in no U Turn area.
My friends kids (twins) were born there in USA, and being Andhra folks, didnt have problems in handling food on banana leaves. But the problem was... they were eating in both hands. :-)
Kids wanted Ketchup for the fried items, which was never given. Hotel management note this.
We ordered Spl Biryani, also got some rice. Chicken Masala, Chicken 65 and Chicken Lolly Pop... Butter Naan... what does any kid eat nowadays. We finished with a cool lassi and kids had icecream. I searched for a beeda outside in vain. Unusual for the hotel.
Better than home food, but some much of khara. Green Chillies in everything.
Service was very ordinary. By the time the free raitha and bengan kulambu arrived, we had completed the biriyani. The waiter was scolding us in Malayalam.... probably he thought we didnt know the language. Sad scene in Bangalore. I didnt want to fight.
One guy brought ghee to pour on plain rice, for whatever reason!
Price is on the very high side compared to Nandhini. Very average rating.
As usual, based on service we all agreed not to tip. For a bill of Rs 1354, I could have given at least 46, but decided on a single note. So was the service.

Rajdhani @ Forum Value Mall
Last weekend, my kids were keen on going around to some temple.
So we hit the road to go to Chikka Tirupati. Nice route, via Silkboard - Sarjapur - and 12 kms away, about 38 kms from home. Had a darshan and got laddu prasadham.
On the return we didnt want to stop for lunch at any small place / dhaba...
So we decided to eat at Forum Value Mall itself.
There is Rajdhani - providing a decent buffet at Rs 225/per head - for kids it is Rs 112 each. Nice food with lots of sweets. You will not feel hungry at all. They would charge Rs 30 per glass of lassi. But they give the mineral water ( Aquafina ) free. Lots of vegetables and curries are served. Rice with sambar and mixed curd rice made our day!
You better go with good appetite. :-)
Kids just managed some rotis and some rasmalais. Thats it. They Wanted Ice-cream.
The waiters signal each other, with some hand signals - to bring the items, to replenish.
Kids later had Icecream and Italian shop, costing Rs 68 per cone. Rip off.
So went one weekend.... shopping kids clothes at a value price.
